You are perfect, just as you are

You are perfect just the way you are, right now. Don’t believe me? Keep reading!

We are all born perfect, just as we are.  However, as we grew up around others we were taught that we are not perfect just because we do things that make us human.  The fact of life is, we are all born perfect by virtue of being unique — you are the perfect you. There is nothing wrong with you.

Is there room to grow within ourselves? Always, but that is for us to do for ourselves. Fortunately, there are others who have paved the way for us. We can seek out encouragement and guidance from the life stories of those who have paved the way. We can then use our life stories to motivate us and to inspire others.

We tend to be our own worst critic. We are much harder on ourselves than others are on us. It is because of that harsh inner critic that we give into fear and are unable to do the things we are passionate about.

We believe that we are not good enough, we won’t measure up to so and so who have been doing what they are doing for decades. Of course, you are not going to be good as others in one day. Bill Gates did not amass his fortune and success in one day. No, he started out at the bottom as everyone else. But, tell the truth. How many of you are still smarting that you did not invest in Microsoft in the eighties?  Les Brown, Oprah, Tony Robbins, Guy Kawasaki, Michael Bloomberg and the big Kahuna Warren Buffet, all started out at ground zero and they worked their way up to who they are today.

It is the same with us. If we do not start, there is no way we are going to succeed in what we desire to do. If you feel that you are not perfect and what you want to do is not perfect, then guess what, you will never become perfect in what you want to do. If you feel that by the time you will amass a fortune you will be too old to enjoy it, then guess what, you will get old regardless if you start now or not. If you feel that others will laugh at you because you are not perfect in what you are doing, then listen up, you will be stopping your life because of someone else.

I do believe that if we were to examine our beliefs about not being perfect, we would realize that those beliefs do not even belong to us. Those are regurgitated beliefs that have no real basis in your reality. If you take a fish out of the water and tell it to climb a tree, that fish will believe for the rest of it’s life that it is incompetent. Place that fish back in the water and it is back in its element. You believe that you are not perfect because you are not in your element. You are doing something that Society has told you whether directly or indirectly that you should be doing such and such and if you are not then you are a failure.

There is a saying that goes, “When climbing the ladder of success, make sure it is not leaning against someone else’s wall.” So stop beating up on yourself thinking, who you are for wanting to do something that you love. Even if it doesn’t gain the external success that society glorifies, you have benefited from taking that first step. It will even give you more confidence to try something else or even to perfect what did not work.

There are no failures in life. Every path you have walked, everything that you have done up to this point in your life, has benefited you in some way. Not all successes have to do with monetary gain. There is the internal satisfaction, the confidence booster, the joys you will find along the way and the wonderful people you will meet. All of that comes together to create a win/win situation and a wonderful life filled with excitement, pleasure and a new-ness about life.

You are going to have dark days and when you do, take the time to rest. Leave whatever it is till when you are feeling stronger. Every day, get up and even if it is for 10-15 minutes, do something that you love. Play some of your favorite music, get up and dance if you can in order to get your creative juices flowing. It will also help to boost your serotonin levels, the brain chemical that is responsible for your joyful moods.

When you start to believe, feel, know and see yourself as perfect–just as you are–you will stop frustrating yourself by thinking and believing that there is something outside of you that you need to do or acquire in order to be seen as perfect and successful so that society will believe in who you are. Society does not and should not run your internal life or your overall life. You are the Master and CEO of You. You are the Director and Producer of the Movie of your life. Yes, there are days when you need to take a break from production and get back to the basics of life, which is loving and enjoying the blessings of life.

Getting back to the simplicity of living and being will help you to become at peace with yourself and becoming one with you. It is that peace of mind that will carry you to greater heights. The interesting thing about getting to that peaceful place within you is that you are not doing it so you can acquire external fame, success and monetary riches. However, those things can come to you as a result of you becoming and being at peace with yourself. You will now be centered and grounded and The Universe will start to bring things to you when you least expect it.

In his book, “Live Your Dreams,” Les Brown said, “In the lean times fortify your heart. In the times of great financial means, line your bank account.” If you are going through lean financial times now, then now is the time to fortify your heart. Then when you are ready for great financial means, not only will your bank account thank you, you will be centered, grounded and ready to handle all the wealthy blessings that are being poured out on you.

Be at peace with yourself and everything will come to you in its own perfect and divine time.

Namaste and Blessings to You!

Interesting read! That Les Brown quote is well said. Financial intelligence is also evident in the way an individual is able to compose or utilize money when in surplus

I do agree with you. Bill Gates started from the ground upwards, and today he is at the top among those that influence policies as a result of his generosity.

Taking the direction down-up is not an easy decision, but it is better than living a mediocre life and regretting later in life about the fear of failure. Nice post.
